Meet The Team: Trent Hoerman

If you’ve ever wondered about who exactly is answering your emails, chatting with you on our site, replying to you on our social accounts and generally trying to make your experience with Dollar Shave Club the bestest EVAR, well then meet Trent Hoerman.

We sat down with Trent and asked him some totally standard questions. Here’s what he had to say.

Bathroom Minutes: What’s your role here at DSC?

Trent Hoerman: Program Coordinator for the Member Services Department. That means I do a lot of cross-departmental work making sure the Member Services team has all the necessary info in order to help out or members effectively. I also help out on chat support and respond to member’s questions on social media.

BM: What was the last picture you took on your phone?

TH: I don’t take a lot of pictures on my phone, unfortunately, so you’re going to have to settle for a picture of Coors Field during my trip out to Denver a couple months ago.

BM: Do you have a favorite snack in the DSC fridge?

TH: Has to be the string cheese. I am a HUGE fan of cheese.

BM: What music do you have currently playing on your phone?

TH: I’m more of a podcast guy myself. I’m currently listening to The Herd, Colin Cowherd’s show. I gotta keep up with my sports while I’m at work somehow.

BM: What’s one Member Services initiative that you’re really excited about?

TH: Our new ratings and reviews page, where we’re collecting a bunch of, well, reviews of our different razors as well as our other products like our new Dr. Carver’s Shave Lather and Boogie’s. I’m really excited to hear what members think!

BM: What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?

TH: How close it is to my birthday!

BM: What’s the most frequently asked question you receive from members, and what’s the answer?

TH: “I have too many blades, can I skip my next shipment?”

Answer: Of course! You can pause your account for up to three months from the “Membership Settings” link on your account page.

BM: What is your most bizarre talent?

TH: Not sure if this is a talent, but I can touch my nose with my tongue. Totally rules at parties.

BM: Can you describe your favorite interaction with a member?

TH: Once I was chatting with a member from Minnesota. Being a Vikings fan from California, and a massive sports fan, I had to take the chance to see what a fan from Minnesota had to say about my Vikes. We ended up chatting for another 15 minutes just about the team. That was fun.

BM: What’s one thing that not a lot of people know about the Club (or Club services) that they should?

TH: It may come as a surprise, but real-life humans are actually answering all of our members’ emails and chats. We would never use robots for that—they don’t take the same pride in their work that we do.
